Description

Delo® 400 MGX SAE 15W-40 is a high-performance, low-SAPS heavy-duty diesel engine oil formulated for both on-highway and off-highway applications. It is designed to meet the performance requirements of a wide range of naturally aspirated and turbocharged four-stroke diesel engines.

The product is suitable for operation with both low- and high-sulfur diesel fuels (up to 2,000 ppm sulfur) and is compatible with modern emission-control technologies, including Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), as fitted on current low-emission diesel engines.

Delo 400 MGX SAE 15W-40 is formulated using Chevron’s ISOSYN® technology, combining premium base oils with a high-performance, low-ash additive system. The formulation incorporates a high viscosity index and a balanced combination of modern dispersant, detergent, oxidation inhibitor, anti-wear, corrosion inhibitor, viscosity improver, and anti-foam additives.

This technology is designed to deliver robust engine protection and performance under demanding operating conditions, with performance demonstrated in critical engine tests.

Recommended Uses

Delo 400 MGX SAE 15W-40 is recommended for use in naturally aspirated and turbocharged four-stroke diesel engines operating under severe service conditions and across a wide range of climatic environments, where API CJ-4, CI-4 PLUS, CI-4 and SAE 15W-40 performance levels are required.

The product is formulated using advanced low-SAPS additive technology and is suitable for diesel engines designed to meet Euro IV, Euro V, and Euro VI emission requirements, as well as U.S. EPA 2007 and 2010 exhaust emission standards. It is compatible with engines equipped with modern emission-control systems such as Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), including applications within the marine industry.

Delo 400 MGX SAE 15W-40 is suitable for use in both older engine designs and modern high-output engines incorporating features such as four-valve cylinder heads, turbocharging or supercharging, direct fuel injection, intercooling, and electronically controlled fuel and emission systems.

The lubricant is formulated for use with Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuels and is also suitable for operation with low-, normal-, and high-sulfur diesel fuels containing up to 2,000 ppm sulfur.

When using with diesel fuel blends containing greater than 6% of biodiesel(>B6), monitoring oil condition is critical. Fuels with higher biodiesel content increase the risk of fuel dilution in the engine oil. This reduces the oxidation stability of the engine oil as biodiesel tends to oxidize more rapidly thus directly impacting the oil drain intervals. Biodiesel contents greater than B6 have a lower energy content than diesel fuel, which may result in slight horsepower loss and slightly increased fuel consumption.

Always confirm that the product selected is consistent with the original equipment manufacturer’s recommendation for the equipment operating conditions and customer’s maintenance practices.
